Zuan Carreño, Colombian photographer available in South America for editorial and commercial assignments.
I love people, art, fashion, voyages, classical painting, sculpture and film and my photos certainly reflect that outlook. I believe that nine out of ten times the intentions of the creator have nothing to do with what is perceived by the viewer. The impulse that led you to make an image is a thing that you can't share with anyone, even if you explain it. What remains is a surface that will live its own life, that will belong to everybody. I accept that surface. I love when I see a photograph and think: "This moment has been, it has been precious, I felt it as precious and I made this image".
I get really obsessed with the person I am photographing. Some photographers treat models like models and they don't want to know anything about them. They want them to be a blank canvas that you go and paint with. Me, I like people. I realized some time ago that a part of my life is my work and it's the biggest part of my life. So unless I enjoy this person that I am photographing, my life can be pretty boring if I treat them just like a blank canvas.
