I want to use this space to praise my three favorite New Zealanders, Bret McKenzie, Jemaine Clement, and Loren Horsley.
Flight of the Conchords
I know, I know, Flight of the Conchords is probably considered old news by now. But I don't give a damn! They've just recently been introduced to me, thanks Wil, and in the short weeks since then have begun to change my life.
They are in reality a folk parody duo, but inside the walls of the show they are portrayed taking their music somewhat seriously.
I can't even really explain what makes the show funny. It's got an "Arrested Development"-esque comedic delivery, which I adore, and I guess it's pretty lame to say so, but New Zealand accents are humorous to my ears. I'm not going to try to explain it. Just take advantage of the examples I've supplied you with below.
Hey, I've uploaded my favorite FotC song for your listening pleasure. You can download "Bret, You've Got It Going On" here.
And here's "If That's What You're Into," a song Bret/Jemaine wrote for Bret's girlfriend Coco in episode 4.
And finally, if you don't have HBO, you can get a couple of episodes for free from the Flight of the Conchords podcast on iTunes, OR you can watch all of them in decent resolution at tv-links here.

Eagle vs. Shark
"Eagle vs. Shark" is like an untouched New Zealand "Napoleon Dynamite." I hope any pray that Hot Topic and MTV don't catch on and rape this little treasure, because at the moment I'm completely in love with it. And I can see that being corrupted pretty easily.
I'm too tired to finish this, and no one's going to see it for a bit, so I will finish it later.
