blink-182

I really need to say this.

Addressing every person on MySpace, YouTube, Virb, or wherever the hell that has made a comment about +44 (Mark and Travis's new band) or Angels & Airwaves (Tom's new band) being better or worse than the other or even comparing them to blink.

Regarding the breakup of the band blink-182:

What really kills me about the whole thing is not even that this amazing band has broken up. It's that now everyone who loved blink is at war. Everyone's choosing sides between Plus and AVA and fighting each other when we should just take it for what it is, appreciate what blink left us and embrace BOTH the new bands. Because these guys may not be together anymore but they're still out there rocking for the fans that once loved and should still love them. Stop being selfish and understand that a band can't last forever. And Mark, Tom and Travis had to realize that they weren't in high school anymore at some point in their lives.

(This is where I start swearing.)

It's just so very frustrating and it honestly makes me angry to go on blink's, AVA's or Plus's pages and see a thousand fans commenting back and forth about which band fucking sucks now. And I went on YouTube to try and watch a video of blink and all I see below it are comments that are written like they're left by fucking 12 year olds who think they know but have no fucking clue. As well as the above mentioned hate comments. Firstly, if you're not grown up enough to type something that makes you sound like you're at least in eighth grade then you have no business even listening to blink-182. And secondly, I honestly think if you were a true fan of blink-182, you would feel as I do about this whole thing and you would love Mark, Tom and Travis enough to understand their points of view and accept what has become of these amazing men. I can't say it enough. And I can't stand to see the hatred. We all miss blink-182 but they've not abandoned us, regardless of what you want to think.

Tom Delonge is fucking rocking his heart out in a band called Angels and Airwaves writing music that he knows can change the world. And I think if everyone would just shut the fuck up and listen to it, they would agree.

Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker are fucking kicking ass in a band called +44. I'm not sure if they're trying to change the world, but they're sure as hell trying to keep the same fans that loved them as blink members happy and entertained.

I've seen both bands in concert and trust me, the guys have not changed. Mark Hoppus broke one of Fall Out Boy's basses on stage and Tom told a story about some one legged girl hobbling around and sticking her hand down a guy's pants. I loved blink-182. And now I have two more bands to love and grow with. Thanks for reading this. I hope it's changed your mind.
