I was talking about a week ago about the songs that still need to be recorded, and one of them was Krow Blues. It's actually a song from 2004, and was a bit of a throwaway - I didn't really think much of it at the time, since it was one of a series of songs which sounded the same (acoustic guitar, piano punctuation...). But I remember writing the lyrics - they were assembled from phrases that I wrote down randomly on a page and then sequenced them so that they would fit the chords. My lyrics didn't really make sense back then (not that they really do tell epic stories now), but at least these didn't make sense in a fun way. There's a joke in the song as well, as I imitate the A7-Em sequence of a John Lennon Esher demo. I wanted to record this faster, but I played around and realised I would just record the same arrangement - so what I did, ladies and gentlemen, was take the 2004 recording as it was, and - using the wonders of digital technology at my fingertips -, I sped it up! And voila.
Also, I added the lyrics to 'dust afternoon', because they're fun too. In a serious sort of way.
