While dusting off the old songs from 2000-2001 I came upon a few songs I recorded using a minidisc player in May 2000- a few of them in the living room at my parents' house, with a movie (True Romance) in the background. And this one (called 'Daffodils') was recorded at the university where I studied, in a large empty hall, hence the reverb. It is recorded live, in one take. This song surprised me because I had forgotten about it, and it is actually OK (if I say so myself); there is another version, recorded live as well, on the 'November 2' tape, which is much slower and tamer and forgettable. The lyrics are a bit nonsensical, as they tended to be around then.
