who we are...

Debut record is available NOW! on iTunes

"Since I can remember, I've wanted to play music. My brother Dan and I Shared a room growing up and began writing music together in high school. He played guitar and I sang and played piano. After graduating, we started playing small gigs at local coffee shops and bars around Arizona State University, where we both attended school. As bass players and drummers came and went, Dan and I were determined to give our hearts to what we loved. In the summer of 2000, we gathered the small amount of cash we had and recorded our first EP. Night and day we packed CD's in envelopes and shipped to every record company we could find an address for. Early the following year, we received our first call from a major record label. Although nothing transpired at the time, it was a decisive factor for Dan and me moving to Los Angeles to pursue our music more seriously. We rented a small house just outside Pasadena where we lived and rehearsed. We would balance a full time job and rehearse five nights a week while playing shows at small clubs and opening slots at venues such as The Viper Room, The Knitting Factory and The Roxy. On days off, I would make thousands of flyers on bright colored paper, passing them out at local colleges. I was even escorted out of Capitol Records for jumping the parking lot fence and soliciting material on record executive's cars. I was determined to try everything. Over time, complacency and depression would visit us. We received little or no response from the small exposure we had received. We would often forget who we were and what we came to do and living away from home began to feel meaningless. After three years, our drummer and bass player decided to leave pursuing careers outside music. With our last breath and final effort, Dan and I gave ourselves until june 2005. In April of that year, Daniel Dempsey (drums) joined us in what turned out to be the perfect fit. Shortly after, we signed a producer agreement with Brian Garcia following our first record contract with Flicker Records Sony/BMG. In the process of recording our full length album, we faced the heartbreak of a broken relationship to the uncertainty of a finished album. The songs on this record are stories of our journey. From lost love, to love found, from the time we were young until june."

"We all admire the spangled acrobat with classical grace meticulously walking his tight rope in the talcum light; but how much rarer art there is in the sagging rope expert wearing scarecrow clothes and impersonating a grotesque drunk! I should know." (Vladimir Nabokov) Thank you for your friendship! Musical greetings from Munich/Germany! Feel free to download my music!
