Day Three: Sound Therapy Dec 23
It's amazing what the bass of an 808 encoded on vinyl can do for the soul. Just when you feel like every city in America is like a different country. You find a place where everyone is the same and everything looks cooler in the dark. The nightclub, though referenced several tymes in my writings, has never been a source of refuge for me. It's more of my brother Alva's province (as evidenced by his pics here). So in searching for a place to belong in a place I so obviously don't I found it. It didn't matter what the DJ spun, the music was intoxicating and the intoxicated didn't bother me a bit. The whole ambiance helped me to reflect and ponder things that normally would never cross any sane man's mind in a place filled with 7 inch heels and 6 inch skirts. Family, friends and future were the F's lodged within my cerebral cortex. But somehow the beat made it alot more tolerable than usual.
