The project TONER dedicates itself to the topics Mass phenomena, Conspiracy theories and Germany searches. These topics are discussed in the form of text and image combinations, which are produced as booklets. Found material - from the tide of the everyday media such as advertisement, mass media, but also in addition from art, theory, literature, etc. - is isolated from his original context and recombined with "strange" material. New, shifted meanings of existing information develop.

Emphasis contentwise is the criticism of the information structures of the mass media, the use of image and language to produce a linear view of the "reality". The mass media reduces the complexity of images and language in favor of an easy consumption. This linear reduction of image and language (or rather of information) - as well as the manipulative strength, which it accompanies - shall be by the project TONER, in which familiar pictures from the mass media become readable into different contexts at the same time: Pictures of official state receptions are combined for example with guidances from the Knigge as well as images from the terrorism search. It is to be examined thereby how combination of different information creates new views and reflection levels can be opened. It concerns the subversive strength of pictures and language by means of associative linkage of different, apparently mutually exclusive messages.
