My New Years Thoughts...Blogging is not for me.

Welcome to the year 2008. And for me, it started with a rather big non-event, we didn't even do the countdown, but it was the most fun I've had in ages. Spending NYE with friends is one that I hope to repeat in many a coming year, previously it has always been with family which while nice, is always not quite what you want. So for this year my first new year's resolution is to be more outgoing, and keep myself busy.

This should be an easy, yet expensive task. I have recently purchased a Canon 400D with the 50mm F/1.8 lens, and oh it is fun, previously I've had film slr's but I've just not been drawn into them as much, especially when embracing digital is here. I'll go back to film now and again, but now I've found my new best friend, and metaphorical fourth eye in the Canon. Here's where I could start a huge rant on how photography has been devalued by digital cameras and how everyone thinks they're the next big thing with their point and shoot. I'm not going to continue, because my ambitions will hopefully show to people how the right set-up and quality will always win through. Even with many art forms these days transformed because people think they can use Photoshop or Dreamweaver to design, very little people have the talent, and I've seen a lot of it on here, and at DesignersTalk, I don't have the talent compared to many, but I'm working my way there, with the knowledge that I will not be the best but damnit I will improve until there is no more improving left to be done.

This is where my writing head runs out of steam, bloggers of the world - why do you do it? I'm sat here realising I'm writing this for myself, so in a couple of months time I can think 'What planet was I on?' and better myself by not doing this again, oh well.

My 2008 Resolution Rundown:

Travel around the country with my camera and ever increasing lens collection
Keep in contact with friends and relatives better
1650x1080 (For the geeks among us. I strive to better the macbook's 1280x800 with a new 20" screen someday)

But most importantly:

Explore, create and have fun.
