Redding Pennsylvania, to Birmingham

post a comment | posted Jan 30

We've just started the official tracking of the next record at the highly fortified Alamalibu Studios in Birmingham, Ala.

The last album, Lazarus Beach, nearly killed at least one of us, twice. And it was nearly lost.

The engineer in charge of backing up the files did so after an extensive session in which all of the horns for the record were recorded. All of the new tracks were lost in the process, but were thankfully recovered after much bloodshed and a copy of File Salvage.

Lazarus Beach, the man, was a newspaper printer and British loyalist during the American Revolution. He was also the grandson of the Rev. John Beach, a missionary of the Church of England famous for continuing to bless the Queen during his sermons, even through threats and eventuial artillery fire aimed at the pulpit. Freedom of speech, right?

In a well-meaning attempt to write the history of his late grandfather, Lazarus lost the trunks and valises that contained all of Rev. Beach's memoirs and records... during a move.

I think we're a little more prepared for this next one. Lazarus Beach is buried in Redding, PA. His name and the naming of the record are entirely unrelated.

We'll post the name of the upcoming LP soon.
