"They are bringing the street credibility back to pop music" One thing that is obvious the first time you see this group of people together, onstage and off, is that this is a BAND. The members of this band are constantly feeding off of each other. They live together, work together, and play together. The most striking quality this young group possesses, is how the five distinct personalities shine through at all times, tempering and balancing each other. As bassist PJ says, " You can't make that s@#* up!" Their draw comes from their provocative male/female intertwined vocals, the unique combination of Horns, and a fierce rhythm (spell it) section. The members of Thought understand the human need to categorize everything (what is it?). However, it is often hard to categorize their music. Drawing influence from many genres (Bad Brains, Talking Heads, Paul Simon, Bill Frisell, Bill Withers, Fela Kuti, Auktyon, Meshelle Ndgeocello, Hot Hot Heat, Soundgarden, Phish), their intense conservatory training (Eastman School of mewzik), and the energy of dancing and intense listening, Thought likes to Rock. Thought takes pride in making music at a high level. Not for money or fame, but for the ritual of sharing sounds and energy with you. Enjoy!
