Within the last ten years hundreds of women have gone missing in Juarez, Mexico. Vanished without a trace. Some are found later: murdered, raped, maimed. The others never return. Are they being trafficked? Is this mass misogyny? The number of victims can only be speculated, because no one knows the truth. Estimates range between 300 to 5,000 women. And the victims keep getting younger. How is their government responding? It is not. Families, friends and strangers have marched and protested. They have pleaded and shouted. There have been fund-raisers, letters, and reports, and reports, and reports. They have been heard. But nothing has changed. They are powerless. But why? How can there be this much hate? Who is their predator? What is the motive? Who will be their protector? How can we stop it?
