the:WAH hail from Karlsruhe, Germany and consist of Rebecca Karcher (singing), Bernd Lüddemann (drums), Michael Krkoska (bass), Sascha Schubert (guitars) and Stephan Pfalzgraf (keyboards).
Their style is a blend of edgy rock with nail-to-the-floor-funk and an addendum of butterflying ballads that squeeze the earwax out of your guess what. "Monstergroove" is the records name. It's programmatic just like the fretless, but electric bass. The groove and rhythm are diversified and it's all accompanied by a distinctive and intense voice that layers across the funky Wah-Wah, which inspired the bands name - the:WAH.
They might be influenced by Prince, Jamiroquai and Funkadelic as well as Led Zeppelin, Bullfrog or Chris Whitley. But above it all the:WAH try to create a musical environment of their own. Not trying to reinvent the wheel, but play the music they have in their heads, hands and hearts.
