Just like the title says. All songs download free now because we recently sold-out every last album we had. So do it yo.
Hey, we're the Seaworthies. Download the songs that we have here on our page. The whole "We Could Make a Movie Out of This" album that we made back in 2003 is available for download here. That album has long been sold out and out of print and we have been wanting to give it away for free online for a long time.
From Fensepost Record Reviews:
"Discovering The Seaworthies led to much excitement, as I had wondered where Blaise Scuirba had disappeared to after our brief encounter shortly after the turn of the century. The answer was that he never really left, but remained in Kennewick, one of the Tri-Cities in south-eastern Washington. It was 2002 when I was first introduced to Scuirba, but it wasn't through The Seaworthies, it was through Blaise and Tara's old band, Moon Turn The Tides. Back then, the married couple was accompanied by three other musicians and produced a sound that would have meshed well with bands off Elephant 6 and Kindercore. Now, as a duo, they continue to strive for notoriety in the world of indiepop.
The background music that makes up The Seaworthies differs quite a bit from Moon Turn The Tides. Dreamy and slightly psychedelic keys are mixed with heavy drum box beats throughout Wake Up, their debut single/EP. The sound is created with Reason, a studio simulation powerhouse. The instrumentation includes guitar and an Oxygen 8 Midi keyboard and guitar.
Keeping their backing sound original, The Seaworthies' lyrical work is also quite skilled. “Confounded by Love” is crafted with masterful diction amidst plentiful La La La's. In Wake Up can be found a trait that was common to their old group—the Scuirbas deftly weave stories into song. This is readily apparent in the lyrics of "Wake Up":
And the sun will rise and we'll still be awake
And the sky will change past those mountains
And the rails were bow on every bridge that we take
From the bodies and steel pushing down
Their vocals overlap much more in “Constellations” than in their other songs. The Reason and Oxygen 8 Midi create interesting sounds that almost mimic a basoon, though certain traits, such as a flawlessly smooth glissandos, are incapable on such an instrument. “Hot Damn” removes much of the instrumentation, leaving the Scuirba's harmony vocals almost unaccompanied with exception to the drum box and tweaked keys.
The acoustic version of “Wake Up” focuses more attention on the Scuirba's vocals, backed only by an acoustic guitar. It has a powerful affect on the song, slowing the pace slightly and allowing much more emotion through, especially apparent at the end of Tara's phrases.
Blaise and Tara have voices of incredible beauty and their oft use of harmonies increases their ability to draw in the listener. It's a common feature that is guaranteed to please whether listening to Moon Turn The Tides or The Seaworthies."

"We all admire the spangled acrobat with classical grace meticulously walking his tight rope in the talcum light; but how much rarer art there is in the sagging rope expert wearing scarecrow clothes and impersonating a grotesque drunk! I should know." Thank you for your friendship! Musical greetings from Munich/Germany!

wow....the most unexpected happiness found on the web. This is amazing. The layers/depth and simplicity of the songs strike the same chord as early ETBG or Tracy Thorn 's Marine Girls. Very Nice.
