Hmm, I don't feel I am going to write any cliche eye-openers tonight, on second thought, but I'll leave the excerpt just the same due to my extreme and seemingly chronic lack of interest and energy.
So here's a funny little story that exemplifies my stupidity quite admirably: It was like any other ordinary Saturday...
(set scene to Elijah's study, where he sits hunched over a massive piles of papers and writing utensils, his television blaring a movie that he is not even watching...)
I was finally working on my University of Portland priority application; real quick overview of what that is: it's free instead of fifty dollars, it is processed before normal applications, it is shorter and does not require a large essay, and it makes you feel special. So I work on this for about an hour, and finish it up nice and proper. At this point I had been under the impression that it was due December 15th, and that I was being responsible.
Phhbbbttt!
As I fold it to send it, I look down at the deadline, expecting to smirk confidently as I see how on time I am. To my surprise, the deadline rebukes me, letting me know a) that I am stupid, and b) that the deadline is today.
I was horrified; I ran to my van (which for some reason I want to call vannigan?) and drove to the Post Office. Of course they are closed, so I can't get it postmarked for today. Who stays open till at least five o'clock, right?
Basically, I don't know what is going to happen there, so keep me in your prayers on that respect.
As for the T-Street soccer game, today, we tied again, this time with South Eugene JV 2, a far inferior team in my opinion. Due to a miscommunication about memberships with the Kick City arena, some of our players weren't allowed to play and we ended up having one substitute for the entire game. I was mainly glad that we managed to hold them off and end up with a tie, and although some say a tie is worse than a loss, I don't think so. I'm not even sure why that would be, honestly. Oh well, T-Street did a good job, and an especial kudos to Robby Chacon, who made some amazing saves.
