Nach mitreißenden Gigs wie etwa beim Fest 2007 gibt es The Patricks endlich auch für den Hausgebrauch. Auf ihrem Erstling "Milk me!" kreuzen die fünf jungen Karlsruher Burschen Cecil B (Vocals, Synthies), Sir Henry (Keys, Synthies), Butterfly (Bass, Synthies), Timekut (Git.) und Drummer Copkillah 80er-Jahre-Casiosounds mit rotzigen Punkriffs, wavige Tristesse mit Elektro/Dance-Hedonismus. Joy Division meets Hot Chip meets Gorillaz, um mal ein paar ganz große Hausnummern zu nennen. Jugendliche Unbekümmertheit, augenzwinkernder Humor, eingängige Melodien und ungemein tanzbare Rhythmen - das macht Laune, begeistert und weckt die Lust auf das nächste Patricks-Konzert (z.B. am 12.7. bei der INKA-Party in der Stadtmitte). Das schmissige "Nordic Walking" ist ohnehin schon zum Insider-Ohrwurm in der Fächerstadt avanciert. -th

After rousing gigs like for example at the Fest 2007 The Patricks are finally available for domestic use, too. On their firstling "Milk Me!" the five young lads from Karlsruhe Cecil B (vocals, synthies), Sir Henry (keys, synthies), Timekut (git.) and drummer Copkillah cross 80s-Casio-Sounds with snotty punkriffs, wavy sadness with Electro/Dance-hedonism. Joy Division meets Hot Chip meets Gorillaz, to name some really big addresses. Youthful airiness, winking humor, catchy melodies and rhythm you can dance to exquisitely - that makes fun, inspires and makes you go for the next Patricks-gig (e.g. on the 12th of July at the INKA-Party at the Stadtmitte). The snappy "Nordic Walking" has yet advanced to the insider-catchy tune in the Fancity anyway. -th

Gegründet 1967. Nach ersten Auftritten als Vorgruppe von Jefferson Airplane und Velvet Underground gelang THE PATRICKS mit Songs wie NORDIC WALKING (1969) oder LIVING BEAT (1970) schnell der internationale Durchbruch. Die Band spielte in den Folgejahren über 1500 Konzerte vor Millionen von Fans, bevor sie sich im Jahre '76 eine Schaffenspause gönnte, um im Himalaya nach Gold zu schürfen. Nachdem alles Geld versoffen und alle Reichtümer dahin (verschwendet) waren, entschlossen sich die fünf rüstigen Herren, wieder gemeinsam an die Anfänge ihrer Karriere zurückzugehen, um die Welt aufs neue an ihrem ganz besonderen Charme und dem Zauber ihrer Generationen prägenden Musik teilhaben zu lassen. Founded in 1967. After first appearances as support of Jefferson Airplane and Velvet Underground THE PATRICKS soon succeeded in having their international breakthrough with songs like NORDIC WALKING (1969) or LIVING BEAT (1970). In the following years the band played over 1500 gigs attended by millions of fans until in 1976 they took a time-out from the business to dig for gold in the Himalayas. Having wasted all their money on drink and blowing all the riches, the five lusty gents decided to trace back to the beginnings of their career again to let the world once again share their very own special charm and the magic of their music that has affected generations. Die Gorillaz stehen in der MySpace-Freunde-Liste, und so weit ist das gar nicht weg: Durch Melodien harmonisierte Elektro-Klänge stehen neben gutem altem Rock, auch Punk-Attitüden, eine gute Prise Dark Pop und Casio-Sounds sind vernehmbar. Also,da ist einiges an Einflüssen drin. Könnte ein abgefahrenes Konzert werden, die junge, viel versprechende Band ist ein echter Geheimtipp. -tfr

The Gorillaz are on their myspace-friends-list and that`s not so far from the point: Electro-Sounds harmonised by melodies next to good old rock, also punk-attitudes, a good dash of dark pop and Casio-Sounds can be perceived. So there`s lots of influences contained. Could become a freaky gig, this young, promising band is a real insiders` tip. -tfr

Das Line-Upliest sich wie ein Who is Who der Fächerstadt: Im orangenen Festsaal beginnen live "The Patricks". Das junge Quintett spielt einen eigenständigen Rock-Pop Mix mit Einflüssen elektronischer Musik von Raggae bis Electro, und hat eben seine erste CD "Milk Me!" raus. (...)
