Si Finnegan

House / Soul / Electronica

London, United Kingdom

Billboard

Simon's love of underground dance music began whilst he was at school, trading mix tapes through adverts in the back of DJ magazine and taking his work experience in the "Essential Selection" record shop, working for Paul Arnold, now owner of Certificate 18 & Fat! Records and alongside Rupert Parkes, better known as Photek. In his late teen's Simon was a resident DJ for Pam's House & Harmony warming up dance floors in the east of England with deeper house grooves. Simon has run a number of night club promotions including Louche, a monthly night that ran for over 2 years, featuring guests like Conan Manchester from Liquid People. Simon also ran Soul Movement, a night playing host to diverse guests such as Flytronix (Far Out records) & Chrissy T (Garage City / Z records). In 2001 Simon was also instrumentally involved in setting up www.baserecords.co.uk, one of the U.K.'s leading online record stores. In 2003 Simon toured Australia taking in clubs and radio in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne as well as a dates in Amsterdam and Germany.

Simon is now owner of the Tone Control Music label and one half of soulful underground production duo Tone Control, alongside production partner Marcus Harris. Since their debut release on Grab Recordings in 2005 with DJ Freestyle, the duo's Tone Control productions have received support from heavy weight house DJ's such as Miguel Migs, Charles Webster, JT Donaldson and Demarkus Lewis. Their soul n' disco cut-up project, Hog Dogs has found favour with the likes of Bill Brewster, Domu, DK (solidsteel), Smooth and Kiss FM. 2006 saw further musical expansion under the Tone Control moniker, with the release of their broken beat "Take it to the Top" EP which received support from Snowboy and Kev Beadle. 2007 saw a new Tone Control remix for Jafar n Touch dropping on Universal Vibes and Tone Control remixes by Small Arms Fiya and re-edit don Mark E. April 2008 sees the release of "Illusion", bringin in the vocal talents of James B Coleman (with credits on Dorado and Subliminal Soul under his belt) and keys from Andy Touch Fingers. Complete with remixes from The Rurals, Pablo Martinez and Pedrosgroove, early support is coming from the likes of Domu, Simbad, Mad Mats, Franck Roger, Halo, Matthias Heilbronn and many many more so listen out for this one!

You can catch Si Finnegan spinnin' records around London and the UK. Simon also continue's his monthly club residency for Soul City in London providing a full spectrum of soul, boogie, broken beats and house to an intimate crowd of heads alongside a top flight roster of guests that have included Joey Negro, Phil Asher, Benji B, Billy Davidson, DJ Spen, Al Kent, Bobby & Steve, Fanatix and many more!

His name is Steve. He was born in Milan, then a bunch of crazy stuff happened. Now he lives in Portland Oregon, where he crafts his own unique blend of electronic music. www.letsgooutside.com www.myspace.com/letsgooutside www.virb.com/letsgooutside free download @ www.oneweektolive.com Soma have decided to release a free single! It will be released exclusively with One Week To Live as the UK magazine prepares to go completely digital. The decision came after Soma were tiring of seeing releases on illegal mp3 websites. It will be available athttp://www.OneWeekToLive.com Who better to try out such an experiment than the debutant Let's Go Outside. Following massive response from the likes of Josh Wink, Ivan Smagghe and Andrew Weatherall for his debut release on Soma's experimental offshoot Pnuma Records, Soma believe that it's only right for Let's Go Outside to play with the big boys on this release. Let's Go Outside hails from Portland, Oregon where he first released on small local experimental label, Buried In Time. He then moved onto Bradford-based Midnight Recordings before being picked up by Pnuma shortly after. Citing his influences as "techno, techno, techno and Tetris", LGO also takes inspiration from IDM, ambient and electro, all of which are evident in this three-tracker. Early 2008 will see the re-release of I'll Lick Your Spine by LGO (originally on Pnuma). This will feature remixes by Massi DL and label mate, Vector Lovers. Let's Go Outside's debut album, 'A Picnic With The Hunters', is due for release in January 2008.
