Scinx makes ultra-svelte music. Now, with that out of the way, here's a little history:
In 2005, Scinx put out a limited release of a 5-song EP, The Setting Sun EP which was distributed mostly in the Southwestern U.S. and is now out of print.
In 2006, a revitalized Scinx returned to the studio and began work on the first full-length release, now titled Beautiful Prison.
In 2007, the album was released. Beautiful Prison, which features indie rock instrumentation & vocals (influences such as The Eels, Pinback, Elliott Smith and Spoon), co-mingled with sparse alternative hip-hop production, was mixed by Mike Sawitzke (Beck, Remy Zero) of Elicit Studios in LA (Hole, Buckcherry), and mastered by Brad Blackwood (Calexico, Evanescence, ZZ Top) of Euphonic Masters in Memphis, TN. Due to popular demand, the CD comes with a 12-page lyrics booklet. There are no plans for a repressing after the album sells out.
In 2008, Scinx has been actively recording a new album, tentatively titled "The Grand". Initially it started out as a 5-song EP, but seems, based on early indicators, that it may end up with a few additional tracks.
