RypTide began experimenting in 1999 with various electronic dance music genres, before discovering and falling in love with ith the psytrance/goa sound in the summer of 2000. Since then, he has been working hard to push his own unique sound, as well as the psytrance/goa experience in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area, gaining respect from devoted psy-junkies and more 'mainstream' edm fans alike.
RypTide strives to create in his psytrance sets a unique blend of dark and pounding, yet funky and very danceable soundscapes. Never one to limit himself musically, he is also becoming known to frequently show his "softer" side, blending the groovy, the uplifting and the funky -- with maybe just a *touch* of evil ;] -- For his non-psytrance sets, you can expect an eclectic mix of house, downtempo, psydub, ambient, electro, breaks, techno, indie electronica, pop, punk, rock and whatever else he can get his hands on.
