I'm an aspiring political analyst with an intense interest in all things Middle Eastern. I've studied almost nothing other than various aspects of the Middle East for the past 6 1/2 years, and I'm somewhat conversational in Arabic. The problem is whenever I'm around my academic friends, I'm usually the only one in the group who would be waiting at the record store when it opened to buy the new Sigur Ros album, or be willing to drive over three hours to see Explosions in the Sky. If I'm around my music friends, I have no one to talk politics to. Sigh..

I would love to trade mix cds through the mail with anyone who is interesed, so let me know..

I love the tangible quality of things. This is why I still buy records and cds. Never download them. Whenever I get a new record or a new book, I think about the way it looks, feels, and smells before anything else. Nothing is better than getting a book or music in the mail.
