We woke up early and walked over to a place called Grub for breakfast. There was chef working there from the show "Top Chef" and you could tell. The bacon was the best I have ever had and the breakfast as a whole was incredible. We chilled for a while and then went to this Billiards Hall in Hollywood that was pure pandemonium. It was dark inside and full of people drinking beers and cheering on their favorite football teams. The 10am game was just finishing up, and you tell these people had been here since 9, watching football and boozing. Uncle Rubin and I got some bloody marys and found a nice spot to watch the Patriots versus the Cowboys. Both teams were undefeated coming into the game, and this was the perfect place to watch such an important game. Everyone was glued to the game, and at every score Cheers rang out throughout the place. It seemed like there were more Cowboys fans there until the 4th quarter when the Patriots ran away with it. I was siked because my Cousin Dave was there, and he and I have been to a couple Pats games together and share the love of this team. So it was cool. That and rubbing it into the Cowboys fans faces! ahahahaha! By the end of the game, I had a nice buzz on but the week had been so long that I went back to Tylers house and passed right out until it was dinnertime. We went to the place where Ty is working, called Doughboys. Its pretty famous in LA for its incredible sandwiches and breakfast. We were there with my parents and Cousin Dave and Tyler was our waiter so it was nice and we had a lot of fun. After that we went home and watched tv for the rest of the night. Its funny watching someone eating grubs in the rainforest at one in the morning when you are stoned to the bone.
We woke up the next day and it was cloudy! Could this be?! Were we still in LA or were we back in Seattle? We had planned on going to the beach for 2007's Last Beach Day, but I guess we already did that. Instead, we saw my parents off with breakfast at "Toast" and then went to the movies. Going to the movies in LA is pretty cool and I highly recommend it to anyone. First of all, you should smoke some weed and then go. This makes everything even stranger. You buy your tickets from the ticket sellers and then they have you choose your seats. Since Tyler is a regular at this, he knew the best seats and chose them for us. You know the ones. They are first row, middle section with a bar in front of you where you can put your feet up. Perfect. Then the seats are like first class airplane seats, so the whole experience is incredible. That and it was Monday afternoon so there was no one there and we were watching Wes Adersons new opus, "The Darjeeling Limited." It was pretty good. I am no movie reviewer but I was entertained and I love Mr Anderson's use of color and his playful style behind the camera. After the movie we went to a bar to meet up with Steve and Matt from F&M and watch the Boston Red Sox take on the Cleveland Indians in Game 3 of the American League Champion Series. It was fun hanging out with Matt and Steve. We drank a bunch of pitchers of Pabst and Octoberfest talking about everything, but mostly the difference between the UK and the US. Both my brother and I are huge fans of the original series of "The Office" so we talked about that. Those guys are the greatest. Genuinely nice people who are always looking for a good time, and if a good time is not to be found, they can usually make one happen. It was great, except the Sox lost. Later on, we met up with my old friend Jeff MIdlam and had some drinks with him until it was late, and time once again to start thinking about moving on to the next and final destination on out tour: Austin, Texas!
