How Does One Sign Up

Here is the short version of what's needed to enter the ring. If you're like us, you don't like reading and definitely just want to get to the good stuff. Here 'tis.

What we really need is one 300x300 jpeg image (this is the thumbnail) and one 640x480 jpeg image (This is the detail image. You can make it look however you'd like). And last the hi res artwork for the printing of the shirt. Easy 'nuff.

Or print off the detailed instructions (see below), find a comfy chair and grab an ice cold drink. It's readin' time.

So you want to be a fighter, eh? Killer indeed. That said, below you will find instructions and steps that will lead to becoming the next Print Will Kill star.

Note: You must be a registered member and logged in to submit a design for battle. The signup form will show up here on this page once you are logged in. Just like magic.

That said here is the summary of the steps below. We provide you with templates or you may create your own. You create a 4 color (max) shirt design. Your design is judged by a panel of battle promoters. The following then ensues...

1. When chosen, your shirt shows up on the front page. We call it the preliminary ladder.
2. As your shirt is rated it moves up or down the preliminary ladder.
3. At the end of the two week, the two shirts at the top of the prelim ladder move on to the main battle.

Step 1 - Get You Some Templates
Download the PWK Templates OR create your own.

[ DOWNLOAD PHOTOSHOP TEMPLATE ]
[ DOWNLOAD ILLUSTRATOR TEMPLATE ]

If you have any problems at all with the downloading or using the templates please email us at support@printwillkill.com

Step 2 - Build Your Weapon
Create your design in one of the following programs. These are the only formats that we accept at the current time.
- Adobe Illustrator
- Macromedia Freehand
- Macromedia Flash
- Adobe Photoshop
If you are designing in Photoshop please be sure to design actual size at 150dpi or greater. If you are using the Flash template be sure to output your design as an SWF for submission.

Design Note: Your design must be no more than 4 unique colors.

Step 3 - Submit Your Name and Weapon to PWK (Print Will Kill)
You will need to create at least one 300 x 300 pixel jpg images. Two is preferred. One image should be a shot of the whole shirt and the other should be a close up view of the design. The file size for each one should be under 50kb. And last you will need to upload a 640 x 480 image to showcase your design. See others on the site for example. However you can go crazy on this piece.

Step 4 - Your Design Gets Rated
After your design is uploaded, and given the ok for battle, your shirt will show up on the front page on the preliminary ladder (that right column thingy with all the shirts in it). Once there everyone starts rating. As your shirt is rated it will move up or down the ladder, depending on the rating it receives. At the end of a two week period the shirts that have made it to the top two spots will move on to the final battle. If yours doesn't make it, don't fret. It'll have many more chances.

Step 5 - Promote Your Fight
Once you have entered the final battle you then promote the hell out of your fight. You know, tell all your friends to be on the football field after school to watch you beat the snot outta the bully. Ha, he deserves it. Each battle will go for two weeks or until one fighter reaches 250 votes. So you see, you want to get as many people to the site as soon as possible to vote on your design. If you are the first to reach 250 votes, or simply the most votes at the end of the 2 week period, then you win the battle. Yes, that's right. The more people you get to the playground the better your chances.

Step 6 - You Win Notoriety and Dough
Once the fight is over your design is then printed and you get 5 shirts to keep or give out to the honorable souls that voted for your design. And you also recieve whatever the prize is for that battle (as presented at the top of the preliminary ladder). The resulting shirt is then sold over in our PWK store to the rest of the world and you receive $1 from the sale of every shirt for the life of the shirt. So if 750 shirts are sold online and we put 250 shirts in bright stores around the world, that means we send you a check for $1000. And last we pimp you and your shirt on Pop Thirteen. (Note: Just be ready as there is that chance that one day we will call you back to the ring to defend your title).
