In September of 2007, Pete, Adam, and André moved in together into a West End apartment in Portland, ME. The three long time friends set up their guitars, basses, and drums and began to play. Within a few weeks of living in their new place, they had rough skeletons of future songs.
In the middle of September, Jeff and André were drunkenly introduced by a mutual friend. Jeff played guitar and was looking to start a band of his own. After a few e-mails, he came over, had a few drinks and met everyone. Immediately they learned his guitar playing ability was only challenged by his NES skills.
Within the next few months, the four practiced and began to form their own sound. Taking influences from their surroundings, tv, and literature, the band began to write songs that dealt with issues that range from personal relationships and strife, to being 20 something and trying to find your place in life. Musically, the band found a variety of inspiration from bands such as American Football, the Descendents, and Driveshaft. During this time the they transformed the apartment into a versatile practicing and recording area. As opposed to going to an expensive studio, they boys decided to invest in their own . Armed with a new method of song-writing and recording, they put the words they had written to the music they had made and formed Portland's own Pinsky.
Although Pinsky may be new to an already saturated music scene, the four members are no strangers to competition and life in a band. Pete, Adam, and André spent their formative years playing in local favorite, Local Nothing, as well as finding time to fill in a variety of Maine and Massachusetts acts. Jeff played in New Hampshire's Down The Stretch! and The Scenic Route.
Please keep checking back for new material as the band progresses even further.
