We are Pareidolia. Classical experimental ambient 8-bit drone grandeur.
Horns, strings, percussion, guitar, Nintendo, beliefs, urban legends, the real world, cassette tape, and computers all coming together as one to create "sounds" and "music".
Pareidolia is based out of Portland, OR. Influneces include Richard James, Brian Eno, Tim Hecker, Merzbow.
"Heavily layered and deeply intricate, Pareidolia builds upon basic ambient work and then transforms each piece into a wall of flowing sound. Every track is both 'easy' listening and 'uneasy' listening - it might seem surreal and simplistic in form, but unlimited expressions of meticulously detailed melody exist below the surface of each movement. They make it seem reasonable to hear the beeps and blips of an 8-bit sound processor (reminiscent of the Mario brothers and early DOS games) beside classical piano, tape hiss, feedback, and entire orchestras."
