Oh hey, wassup?

I've finished Songs for Flying. Its a little on the small side, but I like my albums brief. Since you aren't paying for it, and even if you were paying for it you wouldn't be paying for it, you don't get to complain about length.

My albums are also all over the place. Cherry pick what you like, I don't care. So here is the tracks in order, if the embedded player screws it up:

Who are you
Mental Health
Songs For Flying
Amen to ya!
Hello from Moscow
Passing ships
Something in the Way

So, I also thought I'd walk you through the songs in order.

Who are you - (Has disappeared from the track list.) Sort of a Foals-inspired romp with square waves, a repeating 4 bar motif, and real lyrics. I have nothing interesting to say about it, really. It wears itself on its own sleeve.

Mental Health - Folkish stomp, this time. Has a lofi sound mostly because the guitars were recorded from the sound hole, and then I pretty much killed the bass on them (Which worked well enough, I guess). The vocals were then recorded dry, which is why they sound so close. That's really about it. One reason why this song is atypical of my music as a whole is because its not loop based, unlike the next song.

Songs For Flying - Starts on a damn dime. Strat through a B52 AT412. Bass through it to, I think. Based on something like 40 individual loops, and 5 different sets of loops, and one of my longest loop based songs. Again, kinda speaks for itself.

Amen to ya! - Back to IDM. Amen break, a little more mature look at cutting. Also, the delayed square wave lands right on the snare hits. I use it in HLDJ to annoy people because I think it lends itself to doing something. Pretty cool, I think, not to blow my own horn.

Hello from Moscow - Continuing our exciting run through all the things I can do with the amen break and an arpeggiator, this song comes from a obsession with Chris Clark's song Lord of the Dance. Short.

Passing ships - written for no one in particular. Kinda my bawwwww ending to the album. Feedback orchestra, I think. also, I pulled the Radiohead reverb trick: One send panned extreme right, drenched in reverb. It turned out unsuccesful, so I turned it down. Its still there, though.

Something in the Way - Nirvana cover, I like it. Aesthetically similar to Passing ships, so I included it. I do a lot of covers, because it helps me streamline production. This one came out particularly good, so I thought I'd include it.
