I like to talk/write a lot. I think what I've already written should be sufficient cursory information for anyone skimming this profile...however, if you'd like some further musings, read on:
If you're going to read "about me," I figure you might as well gain something from it. Thus, before regaling you with tales showcasing my wit and self-effacing humor, I'll reward you for your efforts by passing along my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe. Trust me, these things are sweet!
Combine 1 cup sugar, 1cup brown sugar and 1 cup REAL butter (face it, we're making cookies, margarine can't help you now!). Add 2 eggs and mix well. Then add in 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder. You should probably have a little taste now, just to be sure. Continue to mix and slowly add 2 ½ cups of flour, a pinch of salt, and 1 cup ground oatmeal. Grinding the oatmeal is key!
And now for the important part: stir in 12 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate chips! Take as many bite-sized-totally-not-unh
ealthy tastes as possible. If you want fresh cookies, bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes.
Now, about me:
1) My general punctuation of preference is the exclamation point. (!)
2) I want to believe that the hokey pokey is, indeed, what it's all about. I vacillate between this lighthearted attitude and a more serious outlook motivated by a desire to do something good with all the priviledge I've had in my life. It's extremely important for me to give something back.
3) People fascinate me. I always wonder how people became who they are...genetics? culture? Too many or not enough popsicles as a child? I suppose I AM a dorky PSYCH major at heart!
4) I'm a stickler for statistics; you will impress me if you have a firm grasp of the difference between correlation and causation.
5) A friend once said I was the happiest non-religous person he'd ever met.
6) Although most who know me would describe me as HAPPY, energetic, and easily amused, I also have a serious side...if you start singing a Disney song, I will most certainly join in (and perhaps even correct you on the lyrics), but then we may get in a 5-hour long conversation about the use of gender-specific language in Mulan versus Snow White.
7) In the past 2 years, vocations I've considered seriously include: PhD in Developmental or Clinical Psychology, occupational therapist for developmentally disabled kids, nonprofit work with a global focus, high school health teacher, writer/editor, college admissions counselor.
8) Did I mention I love cookies?
