Mode7 is the ongoing solo music project of Sean Bailey. It all began in Prescott, AZ in 1998 when Sean bought a modded TR-606 drum machine on ebay and started experimenting. The sudden lust for electronic gear led to a Yamaha SU-10 sampler, a Sequential Circuits TOM drum machine, an AKAI s2000 sampler, and a Roland MC-50 MIDI sequencer. By 2000, sean was experimenting with full on production. He released 2 songs on the 2001 Music for Retards Compilation 'Kato 2000', under the pseudonyms Mode Seven and EPROM 666 (defunct). By 2002, it was shortened to just Mode7 and due to countless sampler crashes and a need for more musical flexibility, sean got a laptop and started messing around. "Excitebike" and Every Night is Friday, 1984" were the first tracks completed utilizing this freedom. Sean would sit in alleyways, on fire escapes, on park benches and out in nature for as long as the battery lasted, obsessively refining his style. Four years and another laptop later, the result is what you hear now. Enjoy!
