Michelle Pearson is a young woman from Coventry with a remarkable story to tell.
At just 14 years old she became a mother to a beautiful baby girl. This would change her life more then she could ever imagination.
She battled with negative views from strangers, loved ones and professionals by taking pride in her family, continuing her education, and allowing herself to dream of a better life for herself and her daughter.
Discrimination and a lack of opportunities for young people quickly became her passion and by volunteering her time for the Coventry Young Parents Forum she found a stage to stand on, be counted and to make a change for future generations.
She worked jobs to pay the rent while studying in the evening and caring for her family, completed an Access course and was excepted into University, where she has completed two years of a part time Criminology Degree.
Michelle is now seeking opportunities to work with those people she will fight for, those people not many others will understand, in order to make sure they have the best start to life as an adult.
She has worked with young parents, young offenders and in sexual health, making the most of the opportunities for training and setting glowing examples.
This young women is a true inspiration to any young person who is finding life hard and who feels that they do not have what it takes to succeed.
