Fursaxa is west-philly solo artist, Tara Burke, "Alone in the Dark World" is her 5th release, her second release on All Tomorrow's Parties; label. Fans of Fursaxa include Thurston Moore (who released one of her albums on his Estatic Peace! record label), Bardo Pond and the Acid Mothers Temple. Fursaxa is currently working within the freak-folk movement and can be classified as New World Weird along side with CoCoRosie and Devendra Banhart. Her music is very echoed, includes religious-like chanting, flutes, mandolin, balalaika, chord organ and farfisa. With these instruments included, she sounds liked a psych-tripped out, eastern asian influenced, mystical folk artist.
