"We all admire the spangled acrobat with classical grace meticulously walking his tight rope in the talcum light; but how much rarer art there is in the sagging rope expert wearing scarecrow clothes and impersonating a grotesque drunk! I should know." Thank you for your friendship! Musical greetings from Munich/Germany!

Getting Punched in the Arm Over the Summer was a great post and gave me insight into what could be if I ever got out of salt lake city coffee shop reads. Great work. Keep it up >A. Feathers

I really enjoyed your blog article "Getting Punched in the Arm Over the Summer". I used to live near Boulder. Naropa is a rather exclusive circle - you're lucky to have had that opportunity. It seems to me that life's best experiences always happen in the moment :-D

Nice article, thanks for letting me read it. No matter how legendary our stature may be, we're all just humans trying to get by. On beer and chips. :)

Hi Luis. I am just now returning home from a long day of the SWP... I briefly swept through your article and enjoyed reading, what I realize now, is a rare portrait of the interactions between influential writers. We tend to see writers as individuals, seperate from their community, existing on a plane of their own rather than enaging in dialogue with the world around them, which includes the clerk at the grocery store (i mean sonia's gotta eat something, right?). Your details were spot on and engaging, I loved how you chose to listen and watch and record, and I felt you captured the tension between the three writers quite well (especially with the reaction the men had to the woman). anyhow, i am tired, but glad you have befriended me. are you in boulder now? we could meet up at the corner bar (which i haven't been to yet, or heard of) and you could tell me more about all these interesting characters! xo
