Devotional -- Lloyd Ogilvie

2 Cor 3

-Everyone is called to be a minister.

-Paul was confident because he knew who, and whose, he was. Paul's life was transformed people.

-If we get our goal clear, the grace is given. God says, "My grace is for MY goal."

-Prayer begins with Him. Prayer is not us trying to get God's attention. It's what happens when God gets our attention

-WHERE ARE YOUR SPIRITUAL CHILDREN? WHERE ARE YOUR GRANDCHILDREN?

-Seeing the glory of God will prompt you to confess. Confession is the Lord telling us what to confess, which leads to thanksgiving, which leads us to supplication.

-Visualize your unbelieving friends and family filled with the Spirit of God. God's in charge... he will show you the way to minister to them.

-Boldness means literally "to say it all" or " to speak it out."

-Fear means "caution, reserve, pulling back." when you know someone will die without Christ and you pull back from witnessing... that's fear!

-we need the gifts of the Spirit to win people... prophecy, faith, etc.

-after conversion, Christ is responsible for your face in the mirror.

-When i died, i saw thru Jesus' eyes and he thru mine. in the Hebrew, the bible says, "the Spirit of the Lord PUT ON Gideon."

Matt 5:13

-you're in a world that actually belongs to God. there are real rights and real wrongs. our culture is so bored with dull gray lines, because there are no absolutes.

1. salt purifies. it retards corruption.

2. salt penetrates. it penetrates meat to keep it from rotting.

3. salt dehydrates. it makes people thirsty.

4. salt is misunderstood. true sea salt is made of diverse chemicals. we need a diverse spiritual diet.

5. salt stings.

be real. be salty.

-discipleship/great commission

-Jesus expected to be replicated. Teach. Demonstrate. Replicate.

-if the student has not learned, then the teacher has not yet taught.

-have a Barnabas attitude. Disciple people past you.

-are you making a legacy? are your disciples making disciples?

-don't strive to initiate! what you initiate, you must sustain. Let God do it.

-is disciple making an option for a Christian? nope.

-you don't hit your stride until you're 40 or 50, so don't beat yourself for being 30 and not having it together.

-do everything, EVERYTHING, because of Love and obedience to God.

-ask yourself in every situation, Is God being glorified and are people being honored and served? Am i enhancing the reputation of Christ?

-Manipulation and Control have no place in the Kingdom of God.
