The Kaivalya Hoop Dancers began in the Fall of 2006 when a group of happy hoopers discovered each other and came together to "urban hoop" in Denver, Colorado. Since then, we have continued to delight in the euphoria and bliss of hoop dancing and have performed throughout the greater Front Range, at various clubs, venues, concerts, and special events.
Our name, "Kaivalya", is Sanskrit for isolation and freedom from conditioned existence. When we step into our hoop, we step out of the mundane and into a sacred space of spirit-energy, which we manifest into the manifold. In good spirits, we wish to share these spiraling sensations with others through performance, instruction, hoop making, and a mobious-bliss of enthusiastic exercise: Full cycle, full circle, and through the ouroboros of time...
Our performers are all specialty insured for hoop dance and fire dance. We are also CPR certified and do our own custom costuming. If you are interested in having us spice up your next event, please leave a message in our inbox.
We have a few experienced hoop dancing instructors, who are currently teaching at the Donna Bella Dance Studio. For more information, please go to www.donnabelladance.com In time, we wish to expand our hoop dance fitness classes throughout Colorado, as hoop dancing promotes core strengthening and cardio endurance, while enhancing self-esteem and libido.
If you are interested in purchasing a hoop from us, we will make any size and weight (3/4", 1", w/ or w/out H20), collapsible, regular, or tandem, and will take decorating color requests (basically any color, glitter, holographic, photoluminescent, etc.). Price depends on the custom request.
We also sell hoops at select retail locations in the Denver/Boulder area.
We are working on more detailed website, which will be ready by June, at www.KaivalyaHoopDancers.com
"We all admire the spangled acrobat with classical grace meticulously walking his tight rope in the talcum light; but how much rarer art there is in the sagging rope expert wearing scarecrow clothes and impersonating a grotesque drunk! I should know." Thank you for your friendship! Musical greetings from Munich/Germany!
