2007 Biography...
A DJ of seventeen years, Jonny Miller's Jus'Listen projects have always been on the soulful, cutting edge of dance culture - be it spinning in clubs, promoting parties or locked away in the studio making beats.
After his initial Drum & Bass releases in the mid nineties and Acid Jazz flavoured productions as Korova at the turn of the millennium, 2004 finally saw Jonny's solo material start to surface in the genre bending 'Broken Beat' scene.
Jonny's first solo single Essi was released on the superb WahWah45s label after heavy club support from the likes of Bugz In The Attic, Alex Attias, LTJ Bukem and Benji B while 2005 saw Jonny become involved with Manchester's Phuturistix and their label Phuture Lounge. His first single for the label; Cold Air was released during the spring of 2006 and is available via Goya Music Distribution. Jonny's re-edits of classic souljazzfunk (or whatever takes his fancy) do the rounds on CDR with the more discerning DJs in the scene.
As a DJ, Jonny is versatile, to say the least. His sets range from back room journeys and club warm ups through to rocking peak time dancefloors, putting together specialist one-off sets for art and fashion shows and presenting his long running weekly show on Manchesters Unity Radio.
Late 2006 saw the launch Jonny's new online label Jus'Listen Recordings. Jus'Listen Digital EP1 featured 'Essi' updated for 2006 along with exclusive fresh tracks. EP2 featured the popular broken beat cut 'Close Apart' and Liverpool's Tim Scott featured on EP3. 2007 will see Jonny expanding online distribution of his Jus'Listen label, working on various collaboration projects and supplying tracks to labels such as Twisted Funk - a label put together by Marc Mac of 4hero.
Spring 2007 and remixes have been completed or are working progress for The Apples, The Lazer Kru and Becci Wills. Fresh music on Jus'Listen Recordings will be available during the summer
Oh yeah, and Jonny Miller also proudly runs the longest running DJ school in the UK where he has taught hundreds of young DJ's (and a few celebs!) the art of DJ'ing since 1997 - Visit... Manchester Midi School
