my beautiful, brilliant, funny daughters; acting really stupid...sometimes; big hugs;
all things celtic & french; that time of day when the sun turns everything to gold; wearing men's shirts; my circle of friends...both old and new; that first cup of coffee in the morning; brightly painted toenails; lovely glasses of wine; books, and having time to read them; the smell of summer rain, fresh cut oranges and woodsmoke in autumn; new england...i miss living there...alot; "do-nothing" days; laughing until my stomach hurts; great music of any kind; random acts of kindness; driving on warm summer nights with the windows down...and the music WAY up; shooting stars; walking in newly-fallen snow and warm fuzzy socks.

I'm at work Tuesday afternoon when my phone rings...the ER at the university medical center at the school where my husband is the chef calling to tell me he's being admitted to the intensive care unit for a gastrointestinal bleed. You can just imagine my shock..."WTF???" ...
