Hollywood in September (Atlanta, GA / Charlotte NC) knows what they want and how they plan to get there. The band was formed in early 2007 when five musicians (vocalist Chris Affleck and his brother, drummer Shane Affleck, guitarist Jeff McElrath, guitarist Randall Karriker, and bassist, Mike McMahon) formed to create a new sound which would appeal to everyone. Having played every kind of show from birthday parties in their home town to clubs in the breadbasket of America, Hollywood in September is ready to take it to the next level.
"I like the kind of music where you're driving down the road just staring into oblivion and totally swept by the song," says Chris, on the high expectations he's set for the hard-rocking band. "That's the kind of music I want to write - something that puts you in a trance."
Although, lyrically, Hollywood in September explores dark, introspective themes of love, desperation and despair, the group insists the fundamental message is positive. "The point of our songs and band is to let people know that they're not alone in dealing with bad feelings, pain or anything else they may go through," says Chris, who pens most of the lyrics.
The band continues to record and produce all of their own music from their basement, thanks to guitarist Randall Karriker. They have also recorded a video for their song, "Wake up," which is now available online.
If you get the chance to catch Hollywood in September's live show you will be a fan!

"We all admire the spangled acrobat with classical grace meticulously walking his tight rope in the talcum light; but how much rarer art there is in the sagging rope expert wearing scarecrow clothes and impersonating a grotesque drunk! I should know." Thank you for your friendship! Musical greetings from Munich/Germany!
