For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
Nobody did it better than Jesus. He is the eternal Son. Perfect and complete in His obedience to the Father. Total unity. Total honor. Total love. A life laid down, became a life lifted up. He is the firstborn among many. He showed us how. He showed us that it is possible. His life is the true north for all seekers of the supernatural path. There is no other way other than Him. He is the prime example, perfect prototype and ultimate leader. To follow Him is the path to truly find oneself and to live life the way it was always intended.
For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."
His Father is my Father. What a profound revelation. What a profound relationship. Father and Son. The perfect Son had only one passion: to do the will of His Father. He only said what he heard His Father say. He only did what He saw His Father doing. "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work". He did it. Now it's our turn. What manner of love has the Father bestowed upon us that we would be given the right to be called children of God. What a privilege and honor to be called by His name. To be in His family. To call Him Father. To represent His kingdom as a part of the royal family. Perfect love casts out all fear.
The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs--heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
What an inheritance we have in Him. He is our shield, our exceedingly great reward. He is what we are after. His worth is beyond earthly description. Suffering and glory are inseparable. You can't have one with out the other. For the joy set before us, we will endure.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
Sufferings reveal glory. Compared to the glory, the sufferings are not even worthy to be counted. We glory in tribulation. We can stand as a child of God in the midst of the sufferings of this present age - whatever form they take. We can arise and shine because our light has come. The glory of the Lord is rising all over the world as His children are arising all over the world.
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses.
We are not alone. The same Spirit that raised up Jesus Christ from the dead is in us. His Spirit is with us, His Spirit is in us and His Spirit is leading us day by day into the great and glorious. We will be steadfast in His Spirit and we will live as sons.
