High Hearts

Lambertville, NJ

Billboard

Matt Pillischer and Shaun Ellis met when Shaun saw a flier advertising a band playing the music of Willie Nelson, Woody Guthrie, Gillian Welch, and Shaun Ellis! Curious, Shaun attended the show and was blown away by Matt and his band, Sunday Labor. Apparently Matt heard a demo Shaun dropped off at the coffee shop he worked at and dug his music enough to cover it.

They started playing an open mic together as a duo, soon had an extensive repertoire, and are now huge in Guam though they've been barred from touring there due to a scandalous sequence of events that will not be elaborated upon. They play whenever and wherever they can: on street corners, at art openings, and at Moose Lodges (this is in no way an endorsement of the values of the Order of the Moose... they just happen to pay well for good music). These recordings are the outcome of a hodge-podge of various friends' efforts to help them turn their howling and picking into a format suitable for your online enjoyment.
