anyone else feel like flickr is going downhill. I'm a proud old skool member and recently got an email saying i need to get a Yahoo ID in order to still use flickr! im not to impressed
I think it's a bit annoying, not least because I think using your email as a sign in is much more intuitive than having to think of a username that isn't taken. At least you know that no-one else has taken your email address.
But that's as far as I care, I don't reeeally mind that we have to signup for Yahoo, just that it means another stupid username that I won't use for anything else.
I've been really impressed by the Flickr staff's attempts to soothe the incensed complaints, and I think that it's all been blown a little out of proportion. I don't think it's going downhill at all, they still stand for the same values they always have; bettering Flickr and providing an open and friendly community.
