Yeah, so Gutsy sucks!!! I'm back to Feisty now and lovin it. Gutsy kept crashing X and my agettys were black even though they loaded. Much more than that. I think I'll skip Gutsy and wait for the next release.

Your precious Fedora is really starting to irritate me and I haven't even got to try it yet! lol. I don't wana download a DVD. You know we got a netinst CD image in Debian. Its a couple hundred mb's in size. It takes me 5 minutes to install and then after its over, I TELL IT WHAT ELSE I WANT and it downloads the rest thru the internet. No wasted bandwidth, no wasted hard drive, no slow and irritating live CD. LOL, sorry for the rant. I'm sure Fedora is just fine for most, but they're making it hard on people that want a bit more control during install.

Wow, complete lack of action here. Especially with Ubuntu coming out in 5 days and Fedora coming out in 25 days

I've been noticing alot of people jumping ship from Ubuntu to Debian. Just a couple a day, but thats good enough. We can't have everyone using Debian. Then it would be all over digg.com and then I'd have to find another distro!

Well I tried... again. I still get this error everytime. I have 30 gigs of free space on that drive. I select the option to automatically install fedora on to the freespace. I've done a tripple boot before with 2 versions of Debian and winXP and also Ubuntu, ArchLinux. I just don't understand why this isn't working.

Come to think of it, I've never had any luck with live CD's. I may try a netinstall next.

So I removed Window completely from my computer setups, and now run Fedora 7, Ubuntu, and Kubuntu. Debian installer is downloading and will probably be installed somewhere. I'm turning into a distro whore

You should probly stop at Debian :) And I still need to try Fedora out. Maybe next year, I'm pretty damn happy with Debian.

SO, here's my setup. Fedora and Debian on desktop, Ubuntu on tablet. I didn't want to risk ruining my entire tablet setup by partition error, so I just overwrote Kubuntu

You should run kde on debian and let us know if its more stable than your kubuntu. It was when I tried it a few months back. I'd like to know how kubuntu has progressed.

I probably never give KDE a fair amount of time, but I keep getting frustrated with finding stuff with it, and switch back to gnome

Yeah me too. I just like using a few of the K apps. What I do is install xfce4 and then use the K apps like, ktorrent, amarok, k3b, kate, krita, digikam, kpdf. All are really nice. I used to use nothing but gnome apps, but gnome gets boring after a while and KDE seems a bit to much.

I prefer KDE mainly because I'm used to it and I really like Konqueror. However due to my earlier comment I think I can say that I take a neutral stance when it comes to desktop environments...

I prefer many of the K apps, thus I tend to use KDE, though i prefer GNOME's design.

SNickau you should try the xfce4 and kde combo like i do. The xfce desktop with the K apps just go together so much nicer than gnome with k apps.

Hmm, i guess that's a neat idea as XFCE is a lot less resource hungry and defaults to fewer GTK apps..
I'll give it a go, thanks

Nice work, I'll need to take a note of this so I can send it to some friends so they can see how Linux compares with Windows.
And yes, Konqueror does rock ;)
