Went berzerk recently downloading things from Tu M's net label, Tu M'P3. The interface is a bit of a dog, but there're a lot of good (all-exclusive) bits from artists like Taylor Deupree, Greg Davis, Keith Fullerton Whitman, Sawako, Carl Stone, Christopher Willits, Wobbly, etc. etc. etc.

Sorry to not be posting spam. :P

i love undefine textures, never heard synth-sounds, this little kriizq and crackle, some lost words in the far back of the songstructure and yet diffuse sounds sorrounded by lots of reverb. anybody? qi.mono

For what it's worth, I don't think downloading some stuff that a commercial label was never going to profit from is exactly sticking it to the man. If someone wanted to remove a brick from the corporate wall, they'd have to steal something like James Blunt or Christina Aguilera having originally intended to pay money for it.

No disrespect intended and certainly don't take this as any kind of criticism of your music, I'm just responding to what you wrote.

Just a quick live recommendation. Went and saw Christopher Willits play the other night and it was excellent. Laptop and guitar muck about, but quite rhythmic and chunky rather than droney, soft Kranky records type business. Well, there were washy moments, but there were a lot of dynamics. Some of the lush bits were kind of shoegazer styles, sudden bits reminiscent of Slowdive, then back into sample-and-hold guitar crackles. Ended with the almost-predictable crescendo of noise, still sounded pretty different from anything I've heard.

There's a youtube clip here that's fairly indicative.

bit of blatent promotion here but you may, or may not!, like some of the material on acousmatic records (uk),http://www.acousmatic.co.uk

in particular the work by Mark Caudery, Nick Del Nero and Luka is quite exploratory...

Chris Cutler is an experimental drummer- he has been active through some of the most memorable moments in Experimental music from 1970 on. Here though, I wanted to give a link of his writing. His essay "Plunderphonia" is the best summation of sample use in music, and bucket-full of great ideas about it. Just thought I'd share. (got to "writings, then click "Plunderphonia")

at the moment i'm really feeling william basinskis work especially 'disintegration loops III' and 'shortwave music'. its brutally simple, fading tape loops and shortwave over considerable timescales but the way in which everything seems so vague, almost half remembered just seems to relly affect me emotionally . or maybe im just a big mary. theres some discussion herehttp://www.hauntedink.com/25/basinski-disintegration.html and you can pick them up fromhttp://www.boomkat.com/item.cfm?id=18417 or downlaod at bleep
