OK guys -- let's brainstorm about how we can promote Virb. I'm convinced this is the best social network out there. Myspace and facebook are terrible and getting worse. Thoughts?

Instead of taking time to make Virb Layouts, we take the time to show you where they actually are! Welcome to Virb Collect! Can't seem to find the right layout? Check out our Collection of Virb layouts and direct links to their codes. What better to find all the layouts in one place. If you have made a layout you want to share on our list, just simply leave us a comment with the name and link. Hope you enjoy!

Right, here goes.
I'm new to this group but not to Virb and I've seen it become rather quiet lately. I know there are pockets of activity that (thankfully) occur everyday, but generally, we need to liven the place up much more.
I don't want to hear the excuses about it being summer or being too busy - all I'm asking is maybe 15 minutes of your time - not too much to ask for such an awsome place as Virb, I'm sure you'd agree.
Here's the plan.
161 members on here - assume that maybe 30 of those have left the place completely, another 30 only visit once in a blue moon, that still leaves over 100 potential participants. (I'd be amazed if more than 2 people respond, such is the apathy generally around here right now, but 2 is better than none).
Find a group that you have either joined or created - doesn't have to be a really active group, in fact a dormant one may be just waiting to be stirred into action. Make a comment. Even if it's just a short 'hello'.
Look at your friends - choose one - any one - at random and look at their friends. Leave a comment on their profile or on a photo. It doesn't have to be much but make it relevant and be nice.
Respond to a comment that has been posted in one of your groups.
Make one new friend today.
Don't neglect your current friends. If you have a friend whom you haven't heard from for a while, then send them a message and ask how they are.
It really doesn't take much effort.
Check your group activity overview (from the home page) and find out where there has been new activity - and add your response.
Show willing. Please.
The survival of Virb is in our hands. If each person reading this doesn't just ignore it, then we can get the place up and running again.
What do you say?

one day on - I thought (hoped) that there may have been a glimmer of a response ... maybe my estimation of 2 replies was a little optomistic. Maybe Virb HAS died and no one noticed...
I assumed that of all the groups, this one would be the one that actually cared that everywhere was quiet...

You did your best, moo... I guess we have to be content with just maintaining our current "inner circle"!

nope - I haven't given up yet J, not without a fight!
I just posted an announcement and I encourage everyone to try and join at least one new group. Or at least do SOMETHING.
I know I'll probably get shouted down, or told that I care too much and it's only the internet blah blah, but if I felt that apathetic, then I'd just leave the site and delete my profile.
I don't think caring is such a bad thing anyway.
We'll see. Virb2 will soon be here (so I hear on the grapevine) and we need people to still be around then...
I'm off to work soon so not able to play but I hope to see much more activity by the time I next check in.
