My husband has green ginger wine with whisky - "whisky mac" and you can also drink it with lemonade like a sort of shandy or on its own.
I'm trying to think what that ginger ale type stuff was called that we used to home-brew... you'd keep topping the stuff up and after starting with one bottle, you had more than you knew what to do with - and it always seemed on the point of exploding...
What was it??
