Bruce Springsteen

I want to guard your dreams and visions

I don't give a damn
For the same old played out scenes
I don't give a damn
For just the in betweens
Honey, I want the heart, I want the soul
I want control right now
talk about a dream
Try to make it real

Davey Wilson says:

Was anyone else at Carnegie Hall last night for the Bruce Springsteen tribute concert (Pete Yorn, The Hold Steady, Badly Drawn Boy, etc.)?

That was one hell of a show, especially when Bruce made a surprise appearance at the end and played solo!!! I've seen him only a few times before, but it was really amazing to see him at Carnegie Hall. All the other bands came out for the last two songs and performed with him -- I was blown away.

I'm getting a little bored of people finally getting into the Boss after the Killers tried to rip off 'Born to Run', and the new Arcade Fire reeks of Bossness. Pretty soon Springsteen t-shirts will be popping up at every 80s dance party ever. But, I guess better late than never, eh? The day I see a Springsteen t-shirt at Hot Topic, though... that will be a sad day.

let's admit...antichrist television blues is the best springsteen single since dancer in the dark ;) i saw arcade fire the other night in glasgow, they are the real deal. everyone has their influences.

Lasse says:

And if you are going to be influenced by someone - it might as well be Mr. Springsteen.
Him or the Clash. :)

Chris Flew says:

it's strange...the clash is a band i've never been able to get fully into. i suppose there is only so many bands you can.

Lasse says:

Really? I guess when I was young there were two things in my life - the Clash and Bruce Springsteen. Later I would get into Joy Division and a few others, but I still listen pretty regularly to those original loves.

Sadly, Joe Strummer died on my nineteenth birthday...
