BOKEH

Where you share your photos with bokeh

What is bokeh?

Bokeh describes the rendition of out-of-focus points of light which form a pattern in the blur of a photo.

Differing amounts of spherical aberration alter how lenses render out-of-focus points of light, and thus their bokeh. The word "bokeh" comes from the Japanese word "boke" (pronounced bo-keh) which literally means fuzziness or dizziness.

Amin has put together information in a blog for a greater understanding of bokeh here.

This is the place for you to share your photos with bokeh, assess the quality of, and also compare and discuss the lenses that take them.

Not only is this one of my first portrait shots with my Carl Zeiss glass, but also one of my first shots with the soon to be released Sony Alpha A700 DSLR.

The Zeiss glass has a much different look that my Minolta glass I am accustomed too. It is brighter and sharper, and the bokeh is still really smooth, but without that liquid look. I still love my Minolta glass, but this Zeiss has became my default lens at present.
