This is just a post to say welcome to new members. I expect, judging from the intellect of most Slackware users i've met, that this group will be quite autonomous, and membership will stay public.
For the most part, the rules are the same here as anyplace else - be civil (even/especially if someone asks a question you consider stupid), don't troll, etc, etc. However, I don't expect those kinds of problems.
In anycase, welcome. I'm looking forward to making some new friends here, and hopefully you will too.

Having an autonomous package management system does have it's advantages sometimes. I used Debian Sarge to setup a music workstation a couple of months back. It was nice to be able to just do a net install and not have to worry about dependencies or anything like that, especially when it comes to GTK based software.
That being said though, I feel like I still learn something new and useful everyday using Slack, which is an experience that, for the time being, I wouldn't trade for anything.
Welcome to the group though. :) Thanks for joining.
