Hello everyone. I just started painting not too long ago, and have been painting from life for the last few months. Here's a few of the latest ones I did. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

These are great. Particularly liking the bottom one, great color scheme. Is that foil on there?

Hi everyone. Great posts, i especially love Tristan's. Very interesting technique tips.

As for myself, i'm an architect, but painting/drawing has always been a passion. However, because of architecture school and things i haven't been painting for a good number of years now. I recently went back to drawing/painting other stuff than just buildings and it's been one of the most rewarding things ever.
This is my newest piece, a portrait of composer Charlie Clouser, formerly the keyboardist of Nine Inch Nails. There are mistakes, yes, but i'm just trying to get back into painting now. It's tempera, not the egg paint medium, but a type of poster paint, on thick cardboard. 50x70 cm, done in about 3 hours. It's a work in progress.
I'm recently wanting to try oils, but for some strange reason am terrified of them. I don't know exactly why, since i think i know how to mix colors and stuff, i think i'm not used to not using water? Also, has anyone used knife painting?
