Hi there, just joined up with Virb and was setting it up when I came across this group.
I'm still in the unfortunate process of moving house and my computer is locked up in storage (using my parents very definitely non-gaming computer atm) so my only means of gaming right now is a PS2, but I'll be back into MMO's and such soon I hope. Just hope it's before the withdrawal symptoms reach the point of rocking to and fro in a corner!

Welcome to the group! I can sympathise with that for sure.. my pc was down for about two weeks not long ago and I was stuck with my laptop which is not very game friendly. Luckily I made it through with all of my hair intact.. I think you may be able to as well!

I'm curious what the girl/female ratio is within MMO guilds? I know my WoW guild is less than 10%, (based on confirmed Ventrilo voices), and we actively recruit women (i.e. We all agree that WE NEED MORE WOMEN in officer positions.)
In my Star Wars Galaxies (pvp) guild we had similar low numbers. I thought it was a pvp thing, but we need more girls!!!

Same here.We got up to a pretty high saturation of gamer girls at one point, but 75% of them were "Guild Princesses" that got bored of us not pandering to their needs to be validated, so we're back down to 2 or 3 plus me. The few that remain are awesome, though.

I am not in a guild on WoW but I have been in the past and I would give an estimate of 10% at most. I don't know what the overall ratio would be but I wouldn't venture to guess more than 70/30.
What server are you on?

Personally, I love the PA guys and their strips. I am excited to see how their game comes out. I am hoping that it will be an actual game which requires skill, etc. Instead of just a long-running Penny Arcade ad, or a novelty game.

The first time I ever met my husband, I was playing Tekken(3 I think) at our local Orange Bowl (Lakeland, FL). He tried to beat me three times (I let him win the second, cus he was cute), before he gave up and left.
Six months later, we met again, started dating...and I still kick his ass at Tekken!
