So I have been neglecting my group here.. but I got sucked into trying the beta trial for Lord of the Rings online. Yeah I am just nerdy enough to get into that.. an mmorpg with a LOTR theme. Count me in. Anyway.. it's actually a pretty good game, in my opinion, and I went into it not wanting to like it. It reminds me of Guild Wars, the graphics anyway, but the control and envornmental handle are way better. The controls remind me of WoW in reverse. I guess those controls are getting pretty standard now, though.

The races and origins and all that are straight out of lotr.. and of course there is the obligatory lotro wiki which lays it all out far more in-depth and interestingy than I care to.

But yeah good game. Good enough to keep me from even trying C&C3 yet, heh.

I've been trying out LOTRO too. Nice change of pace from WoW, WoW and more WoW. On Sunday, I ran my level 15 captain all the way to Rivendell and took screenshots of all the Fellowship members, who are hanging out there right now. (Not Gimli, though. He's hanging out in the Misty Mountains somewhere, was too scary to go find him.)

Nice! I haven't gone to Rivendell yet. I have tried out a few different classes so far (burglar, lore-master, minstrel) and I have to say that I actually like the minstrel the best, so far. It sounds like an utterly gay class at first.. what with whipping out the little guitar in battle and shit.. but they actually deal decent damage and have good heals.

Do you have the screenshots online anywhere?
