I don't really like rss feeds, I don't ever read them or keep subscriptions to any of them.. besides i wouldn't want my data/blog/ect being able to be posted off/linked to various web domain- i just don't think its very secure... and.. many people wouldn't know what it is or how to disable it..

I'd like RSS feeds too. Other networks have them and they are useful. For those concerned with security, there are also secure feeds. (Maybe they could have that as an option.)

15 Song Limit in Playlists?
Apologies in advance if this has already been covered (couldn't find a way to search this group for references), but is there a reason Virb limits the number of songs in a personal playlist to 15?

i don't mind the 15 so much, but 3 on the profile are too little. i'd like at least 5 there.

Perhaps 15 songs is OK for a playlist, so maybe I'm thinking more along the lines of a "music library" or some other large candidate pool. I'd find the system more useful if I could keep all the songs I like, then pick out songs for various playlists as the mood strikes. Based on my use of other similar systems, it takes enough time keeping limited playlists "fresh" that I tend not to keep 'em up.
A helpful tool would be to have a "playlist discovery system" like the one being developed by MatchMine. That way the user could click a button and get a set of recommendations from which playlists could be created (manually or automatically). This would play well within the concept of VirbTunes (for feeding the music data as a basis for the discovered recommendations) as well as the Virb Transport Modules (for sharing the discoveries).

hmm, there are sites putting your whole iTunes lib online for streaming, and i agree with the larger "candidate pool". for the recommendations, i think this only will work when Virb gets really big. ilike.com does exactly this and i use it for that purpose. if ilike and virb would collaborate this would be nice...

Love VIRB so far. Very new.
Love virbtunes. Been using last.fm iscrobbler, and it is a pain. Have to quit and relaunch it all the time, to get my track to show up on last.fm.
I'm a bit worried that all my listening data will get trapped on virb though. Easy to get the data in, but I don't see any easy way to get the data out. Be nice to have an RSS feed for the data. One feed each for recent, top songs, top artists, and top albums.
I'm not a blogger, but it doesn't look like the blog has a feed either...

Hi!
Every time I try to play with basic custonization in Internet Explorer I experience the following problems:
1. This little window with colours works very very slow
2. Every time I finish customizing a message appears in the middle of the screen which says: do you really want to exit this window?
Please fix it. Thank you!

Opera is faster, takes less resources than Firefox and is the most secure browser these days. And it has functions Firefox can only do with multiple extensions. So i wouldn't say Firefox is "better". i use both for different things...

Netscape works great.. its a small 5Mg download, and even has a Spell check.. pretty great, for theses little text inserts.. it checks my spellin so me spelling arent off... now they need grammar check...
but in IE you can always try resetting your Browser in the Internet Tool's this will remove any configuration that you might have installed, a active x plugin might have adjusted to make sort of small xml/DOM errors inside the Internet Exploiter.. sorry.. Explorer..
Netscape also doesn't leave cookies an other temp files in your temp when you close the browser(if configured correctly),
unlike Internet Exploiter, that allows web domains to keep track, an keep a prolonged cookie inside of the browser..
You can get you Netscape 9.0.0.5 from http://browser.netscape.com/
It is only 5 mgs download, and very easy to use, very quick, and very secure

You should be able to easily set a background image from "Basic Styles" instead of having to use advanced customization.

cheers!
first: thanks to the team who coded virb.com, it rocks very much and is definately a lot better than *caugh* that other *caugh* website.
i have some problems customizing..
i already switched to 'advanced customization', now i don't know how to change attributes in the 'interests' section.
(i put stuff that i'm interested in in custom modules, so that's basically fine, but) the search function doesn't search for stuff in custom modules, does it?
also i don't understand why search function doesn't search for parts of search strings.
for example - if i tag a photo "through the viewfinder" searching for "viewfinder" apparently doesn't bring any results.
i hope all this hasn't been asked before,
thanks for your help and have a nice day !

ps: and when is virb 2.0 about to come, anybody knows ??

What you can do is dump a bunch of stuff in a custom module and call it 'interests'. Then you can format it how you like from advanced customization. To make sure your interests appear in the search you can edit the actual personality module and fill it up with all your tags and then hide it with some CSS.

thanks fyorl, i'll try that.
editing and hiding tags in the actual personality module seems to be the best way, i'll see if my css skills suffice!
thanks a lot!

When you go to Friends at your Home when you click on their picture, you should be able to leave comment, send message, and invite to group right from there. (In the little pop up box that says "Go to Profile" and "Advanced Edit"
