I love everything by Koji Kondo, but been listening to some amazing soundtracks recently. Loco-Roco is crazy good. Also liking the Halo 3 soundtrack at the moment.

My favorite soundtrack to a video game would probably have to be Chrono Cross. I have written almost all of my research papers to that soundtrack. it has such a great balance of smooth and fast moving tracks that keeps me inspired and moving when writing.

Shadowman...anyone? Sondtracking-wise that game was insane. But my game wonder still lies with Myst. those sounds are just excatly what I wanted to do with a game, but they got me drunk and took my idea while I slept.

Don't know if anyone else here grew up on Sonic The Hedgehog console games (I loved allll the Genesis games to death... and I still pull them out every once in a while to have a few hours of a Sonic fix)... if you did I happened upon this cool project:

I've listened to all the remixes and (almost) each one is awesome. Takes a while since there are so many songs, but my favorites are tracks 1 and 5 on disk 1, and tracks 2 and 10 on disk 2. Actually disk one and two can fit on one CD, if I remember correctly. They provided some CD covers too if you have a printer that can do that... which I probably can but don't want to take that much time to do it.

I deeply appreciate a great sound track in video games, such as Metal Gear Solid, games like Devil May Cry i think had great music, and lets not forget Guitar Hero (both) and Amplitude which focus around music, yeah, i love this stuff :)

I love game music. I have the soundtracks to Mega Man 2 and 3 on my DS, which I use to to both listen and write music with. Check out my song "invisible adventure"... its the first song I've recorded with the DS.

For making music on the DS I use the program Nitrotracker, loaded in using R4 DS.
